We farm Rooibos in the Maskam and Tanqua region and have a sustainable in house production capacity of more than 400Mt of high grown Rooibos per annum.
Our facilities include all aspects of Rooibos, ranging from seedling to final product exporting.
Numerous 1st prizes for best rooibos in South Africa have been awarded to estates situated within the Maskam and Tanqua region. Snorkfontein, our premium estate on Gifberg, is a multi winner of this award.
As an independant grower, processor and exporter, Maskam Redbush is deeply entrenched in all aspects of the Rooibos industry. We are keen to assist with any Rooibos requirement you may have and look forward to hear from you.
2011 Outlook
Winter rainfall for the 2010 season was erratic and well below normal resulting in poor planting conditions. Coupled with a slow decrease in rooibos under production since 2007 the harvest expectation for 2011 had to be lowered significantly. As a result the farm gate price for 2011 almost doubled from 2010 level.
Winter rainfall for 2011 has been well below normal and if the current conditions don't improve soon we could end up with another poor planting season. We have about 3 weeks to end of winter cycle and depending on rainfall next few weeks, prices could increase even more.
